Braces

Braces are an orthodontic treatment used to straighten teeth, improve dental health, and create a beautiful, uniform smile. We use the most advanced braces on the market that provide a more comfortable and efficient way to straighten teeth. These braces apply gentle, continuous pressure to the teeth and jaws, gradually shifting them into the desired position. You can expect to see results in a shorter period of time with fewer visits to our office.

Our braces also offer a more aesthetic look. This makes them an ideal choice for adults who want to maintain their professional look. At our practice, our team of orthodontists will be able to assess your individual needs and determine which type of braces would be best for you. We are committed to providing our patients with the highest quality of care, so you can trust that you will be in good hands

WHAT TYPES OF BRACES ARE THERE?

Self litigating

Self-ligating braces also require fewer adjustments, resulting in fewer office visits. This makes treatment more comfortable and less time-consuming. Self-ligating braces are more efficient and effective than traditional braces, making them a great option for those seeking to straighten their teeth quickly and efficiently.

Ceramic

Ceramic braces are smaller than metal braces and use less force to move teeth. Though they are more fragile than traditional metal braces, they are also more comfortable and easier to clean. Ceramic braces are a great option for adults and teens who are looking for a more discreet way to straighten their teeth. In addition to being less visible, they are also more gentle on the gums than traditional metal braces. Ceramic braces are a popular choice for those who want to straighten their teeth without drawing attention to the fact that they are wearing braces. With regular maintenance and care, ceramic braces can help you achieve the smile you have always wanted.

WHAT CAN INVISALIGN TREAT?

overbite

An overbite occurs when the upper front teeth overlap the lower teeth. This can happen due to genetics, habits like thumb-sucking, or incorrect tooth eruption. Overbites can be mild or severe, and if it's too large, it can cause damage to the enamel and lead to discomfort. Invisalign can be used to straighten the teeth and correct the overbite. By wearing custom-made aligners, your teeth will gradually move into the desired position, leaving you with a beautiful, healthy smile.

Underbite

An underbite is a common dental condition where the lower front teeth protrude out in front of the upper arch of teeth. This is usually caused by the lower jaw being too far forward. Underbites can cause difficulty with chewing and speaking, and may lead to the teeth wearing down. In some cases, Invisalign can correct an underbite, but more severe underbites may require additional oral surgery before orthodontic treatment at our office. Our team of experienced dentists and orthodontists can provide the best treatment plan to help straighten teeth and correct any underbite.

Crossbite

Crossbite is an issue that affects both the appearance and functionality of your teeth. It occurs when some of the upper teeth sit behind the lower teeth, which can cause wear and tear, chips, gum recession, and painful sensitivity. Invisalign can be used to fix some crossbites, but it is important to come in for a consultation to determine the best treatment option for you. With the right care, you can enjoy a beautiful smile with proper bite alignment.

Open bite

An open bite is a dental condition where the upper and lower front teeth do not come together when the mouth is closed. This condition can make it difficult to chew or bite certain foods. Invisalign is a great option to help straighten the teeth and correct the open bite. This treatment uses a series of clear, removable aligners that gradually reposition the teeth into the desired position. With Invisalign, you can have a straighter, more attractive smile without the hassle of traditional braces.

Gapped teeth

Gaps between your teeth can be quite common, but they can be difficult to manage. Food can get stuck in the crevices and bacteria can accumulate, leading to tender gums and even gum disease. Fortunately, Invisalign can help close the gaps between your teeth, providing a straighter and healthier smile. With Invisalign, you can enjoy a seamless, beautiful smile free from gaps and discomfort. Start your journey to a healthier smile today and see what Invisalign can do for you!

Crowded teeth

Crowded teeth can be a real struggle for many people. When there isn't enough room in your mouth for your teeth to sit straight, they can bunch up and overlap in uncomfortable ways that make brushing or flossing difficult. Not being able to maintain a good oral health care routine can lead to plaque and tartar buildup, cavities, and even gum disease. Fortunately, Invisalign can fix most cases of crowded teeth. To find out if it’s the right choice for your smile, come in and speak with your dentist.

PHASE 1 TREATMENT

Phase 1 orthodontics can help straighten teeth, correct bite issues, and reduce the need for tooth extractions down the road. Our team of experienced orthodontists will create a customized treatment plan to meet your child’s unique needs and ensure the health and appearance of their smile. With early intervention and regular care, your child will be able to enjoy a beautiful, healthy smile for years to come.

TYPE OF PHASE 1 TREATMENTS

Space Maintainer

Self-ligating braces also require fewer adjustments, resulting in fewer office visits. This makes treatment more comfortable and less time-consuming. Self-ligating braces are more efficient and effective than traditional braces, making them a great option for those seeking to straighten their teeth quickly and efficiently.

Palatial expander

Phase 1 treatment with a palatal expander is designed to create a better bite and alignment of the upper jaw. The process typically starts with a fitting of the palatal expander, followed by a series of adjustments over a period of several weeks. During this time, your child may experience discomfort, but this is usually temporary.By the end of phase 1 treatment, the palatal expander will have widened the palate to the desired width and the upper teeth and jaw should be properly aligned. This treatment lays the foundation for more comprehensive orthodontic treatment in the future.

Limited braces

Limited braces are often used as the first phase of orthodontic treatment. During this phase, only a few teeth are moved at a time, allowing your child to learn how to maintain good oral hygiene while they adjust to their new braces. Limited braces are designed to correct minor issues with the bite and the alignment of the front teeth. They are less noticeable than full braces and require fewer office visits for adjustments. The average length of treatment with limited braces is around 6 months. After the limited braces are removed, your child may need additional treatment to complete their orthodontic treatment.

Extractions

Extractions are a common part of Phase 1 orthodontic treatment, as they allow for adult teeth to come in properly. During the procedure, your child's dentist or orthodontist will numb the area, gently remove the tooth, and provide aftercare instructions. Sedation options are available to ensure your child is comfortable throughout the procedure. With the right care, extractions will enable your child to have a healthy and beautiful smile.

Why are retainers so important?

RETAINERS

After you undergo orthodontic treatment, you may think you’re done, but there’s one crucial process involved with correcting your tooth alignment and that’s the retention phase.

This is when you need to wear a retainer, an oral appliance that holds your teeth in the position you’ve shifted them to and prevents them from reverting to their old alignment. Why does this need to happen? Well, the position of your teeth is very malleable, especially soon after your orthodontic treatment has finished. A retainer holds your teeth in their correct position for the long term. While you may initially need to wear your retainers all day, after a certain period, you can typically switch to only wearing them at night.

We offer both fixed and removable retainers, depending on your needs and preferences. Fixed retainers are permanently attached to your teeth and only need to be removed by a professional. Removable retainers are made of clear plastic and are much easier to take out and put back in yourself. No matter which one you choose, retainers are an essential part of your orthodontic treatment.

TYPES OF RETAINERS

fixed retainers

Fixed retainers are an orthodontic device used to maintain the position of teeth after braces have been removed. They are typically made of a thin metal wire bonded to the back of the teeth and can last for many years. Fixed retainers provide a permanent solution for keeping teeth in place and help to prevent them from shifting out of alignment. They are also easy to care for since they do not require removal or replacement. Regular brushing and flossing is recommended to keep the teeth and retainer clean, and regular dental visits are necessary to check for any signs of decay or gum disease.

Removable retainers

Removable retainers are an important part of maintaining your orthodontic treatment results. They are custom-made from clear plastic and metal wires and are designed to fit your teeth snugly. Your dentist or orthodontist will provide you with instructions for wearing and caring for your retainer. It is important to wear your retainer as instructed in order to keep your teeth in their new, corrected position. Removable retainers should be cleaned after each use, and stored in the case provided to you by your dentist. With proper care and wear, your removable retainer will help you maintain your beautiful smile for years to come!
